Fences For Fido feels a deep sense of gratitude for Sue Heublein, who was a cherished member of our volunteer family. Sue served in many ways since 2011, just a short time after the organization was formed. In her first role for Fences For Fido, Sue served as social media manager and helped increase the engagements and number of followers by the thousands. Though our work sometimes shows us the darker side of life, Sue consistently brought brightness, heart, and a non-judgmental approach to all conversations. Through her words, hearts and minds are opened. Where she led, our supporters would follow.
For a couple of years, Sue served on the Board of Directors and was in a leadership role during our greatest years of rapid growth and associated challenges. Sue's background as a high-level manager for the Veteran's Administration was instrumental in providing mentorship and sound opinions on key decisions.
In the field, Sue served and her dear husband Eric served as a client outreach coordinator/crew leader team, knocking on doors of prospective clients and opening doors, which allowed us to help chained dogs in need.
A couple of years ago, Sue co-founded Fences For Fido's Unchained Planet project, which provides mentorship to others around the country who are interested in forming unchaining organizations. Sue a cherished friend to all our volunteers, was always available and willing to help in any way.
We're incredibly grateful for Sue's long-time service with our organization, and we’re so touched by her family’s wishes for donations to be made to Fences For Fido in Sue’s memory. Sue as she was beloved friend to us and our Fidos. If you would like to make a donation in Sue's honor, please do so below.
