The Lake Washington United Methodist Church in Kirkland, WA has a Safe Parking Program http://www.lwumc.com/do/community-involvement/safe-parking-program/

It is a program for women and families living in their cars and needing a safe place to park their vehicle without fear of tickets or harassment.  So many of these folks have dogs with them as well.  The church has reached out to Fences for Fido and asked us to build them an off leash area where these dogs can run and play with their owners instead of having to spend their days in cars and on leashes.  We will be building them a 20’x50’ panel fence on December 30th beginning at 10am.  While we could certainly use a couple of volunteers for the project we want to invite anyone that would like to just be there to witness this awesome undertaking to join us.  The address is 7525 132nd Ave NE, Kirkland, WA 98033.  You can contact me directly at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 913-909-8215 if you want to go and perhaps set up some car pools.

Thank you to Fences for Fido for making such a wonderful idea a reality.
